About Me

My photo
I try to embrace life, i love people and i love life. Through my work I aim to help break apart the ‘illusion of separation’, to challenge the viewer to question, and evolve out of ignorance, conditioning and ingrained genetic habits. In life I strive to take responsibility for the effect of my existence, and through my actions and images, inspire others to think/dream beyond their immediate capacity. Ultimately I seek to create portals that open to the infinite possibilities of being and expressing, so that we may remember and re-discover who we are, where we originate from and where we are headed. My aspiration is to paint messages, visions and narratives that communicate with an ‘older & wiser us’, awakening ancient memory; as well as the ‘present us’, that we may grow up and accept the responsibilities towards ourselves, each other and the rest of existence on this planet… Kimberley

Faces Project - Bob dylan

"Some feel the rain, others just get wet."
That pretty much sums up the effect bob dylans art has had on me. I remember as a little girl around the age of 8 hearing Bob dylan for the first time it really spoke to me as i always felt mature for my age and the raw folky voice belowed out into my soul like some kind of anthem. The first song i heard from Dylan if i recall correctly was George jackson, i remember hearing the lyrics-
" they were frightened of his power, they were scared of his love"
Those lines just got to me and still get stuck in my head from time to time.
anyway Dylans rambling poetry has guided me on my journey and inspired me to never fake it, not take any crap and to most importantly have heart.
I really like the way this darwing turned out its kind of twisted, i like the way the lips are of centre it reminds me of dylan's wittyness towards the press. He also looks a little worn which i think adds to the effect.
xo
Peace
